The best way to get everyone at work to think multiversity (diversity is still too closed a concept) is to use science fiction. It is safe, fun and gets the point across without stuffing it in the faces of those who might be too afraid to look at their attitudes and feelings.
So, let’s take a quick journey through Star Trek. The stories there are affirming and enlightening and help to create visions of a better world. We sure could use a big dose of that show today when all we see are lawyers fighting or crime scenes that need to put the puzzle of who did it together.
Here is the essence of science fiction and that starship Enterprise. It taught about
1. Balance of power
2. Racial harmony
3. Relationships
4. Absurdity of stereotyping
5. Breaking barriers
6. Looking past the obvious
Hey these seem to be the keys to having a really positive workforce. Maybe what we can do is have lunch sessions and watch Star trek together with some discussion time after. One of the things in Total Leadership Connections, a state of the art program that helps us all look at how the six items above impact the way we lead, the way we live is to use the art of indirection.

Think about all the ways you can help someone “get it” and let me know what books or films you think can make an impact.
I hope that the essence of science fiction and starship Enterprise laid out above will get into some heads worldwide. There are still so many people around who should learn the tips and keys listed above by heart and make some positive difference.
Science fiction concept is great but personally I hate Star Trek series.
